SAVING ABEL has premiered the title track off their upcoming record titled “Bringing Down The Giant.” Click here to check out the brand new single! The band recently signed a worldwide deal with eOne Music. The band will release its brand new record “Bringing Down The Giant” on July 17th, 2012. “I’m so excited and proud to announce that we have signed to eOne. Thanks to them the world will get a chance to hear this amazing collection of songs,” says frontman Jared Weeks. “Bringing Down The Giant” is the bands follow up release to “Miss America,” released in 2010. The band has been hard at work since then and want fans to know they are back. Weeks continues, “We have taken the last year to write and record the best songs of our career.” Backyard barbecues, front porch jams, old-fashioned family values and hard-partying rock n’ roll is the name of the game for SAVING ABEL. A cross between Charlie Daniels and Tool, their songs cause guys and gals alike to shake what their momma gave ‘em while pumping a fist in the air and serve as feel good anthems for American troops on military bases abroad. Saving Abel combined meat and potatoes rock with their eponymous Gold-selling 2008 debut, which topped the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The record spawned the platinum single “Addicted” and the followup barn-burners, “Drowning (Face Down)” and the emotional “18 Days.” Their second album, “Miss America,” topped the Hard Rock chart and imprinted the hearts and minds of radio listeners with the title cut, “Stupid Girl (Only in Hollywood)” and another Top 10 single, “The Sex is Good.” After blazing their own path with two full lengths, six top ten singles with two of them reaching number one, SAVING ABEL is ready to break new ground with “Bringing Down The Giant.”

SoCal rockers Nations Afire have premiered a new video for their high-energy, anthemic first single, “I Am An Army,” from their forthcoming album, The Ghosts We Will Become . Nations Afire recently wrapped up recording of their debut full-length album, The Ghosts We Will Become, at the legendary Blasting Room Studios in Fort Collins, CO; the same studio that was responsible for the past three Rise Against albums and countless other classic releases from bands like NOFX, Propagandhi and ALL. After the album was completed the band returned home to Southern California to self-direct and produce the first video from the album for the single “I Am An Army.” Nations Afire is a four piece band that features current and former members of some of the most influential punk and hardcore bands from the past decade. Guitarist Chris Chasse has an impressive resume that includes a tenure with Rise Against (Siren Song of the Counter Culture ‘04 and The Sufferer & the Witness ’06). Vocalist/guitarist Nik Hill and bassist Brett Rasmussen are both long standing members of the Orange County hardcore outfit Ignite and drummer Todd Hennig was the percussive force behind Death By Stereo for three albums. Bassist Brett Rasmussen explains the band’s excitement in making their own video. “I think we have all done just about everything there is to do in regards to being in a band like; writing, recording, producing, playing live, touring and so forth, but none of us had ever made a full production video ourselves. It was a welcomed challenge and to be honest, ended up being a lot of fun!” Nations Afire has some local shows booked in Southern California in May/June and are in the process of booking a European tour for August.
Soulfly is less of a band then the whims of Max Cavalera and thankfully for metal fans that man contains many layers. It is amazing to think Soulfly has been creating music in some form for over 15 years at this point and Max has continued his tried and true process of heavy, a splash of exotic, groove part, heavy, mini solo, some speed and a extra helping of heavy; moving away from nu-metal in the process. The lineup this time out finds Max joined by Mark Rizzo on Guitar, Prong/Ministry/Static X bass player Tony Campos and Norwegian Black Metal drummer David Kinkade who replaces the much loved Joe Nunez. Enslaved finds this new band in heavier form then any other collection of musicians Cavalera has assembled for this project in the past and dare I say it, at times manages to recall early days of Sepultura in style, if not up to that frantic energy level. “Resistance” is a table setting brief blast of double bass and guitars with an ominous orchestral backing that gives the opening track a marching off to war feel. Max has decided to sing about slavery (as you could have probably guessed from the title), not breaking any new ground there but the lyrics at least fit his screams. A few exceptions are the odd sounding “Hail Caesar” chants which form the foundation of “Gladiator” and the rattling of rhetoric that fuels “Chains”. Elsewhere death metal takes hold and exhilarates on the first single “World Scum” which gets vocal growling help from Cattle Decapitation frontman Travis Ryan. It is an assaulting track with a sing along chorus that will surely be explosive in the live setting. Some straight ahead heavy metal appears on “Intervention” and “American Steel” which sprinkles in touches of wah-wah and middle eastern tinges. “Redemption of Man by God” is some highly infectious spiritual speedmetal with vocal help from Dez Fafara that gets the thrash amped to go along with the headbanging. The album is rock solid without any tack on tracks but two of the highest points happen towards the end with “Treachery” and “Plata O Plomo”. “Treachery” has a death metal spine but showcases a beautifully melodic guitar solo halfway into things, appeasing aggression fans and musical snobs alike. “Plata O Plomo” finds Cavalera singing in Spanish about the Escobar Drug Trade over a meaty groove and flamenco guitar lines, an instant classic. Overall things are as consistent and arguably heavier than ever for Soulfly on Enslaved. Knowing Max’s history things will probably switch up before the next album but it would be interesting to see where this core of musicians could take their aggressive sound.

Ohio post-hardcore outfit WOLVES AT THE GATE are pleased to announce the release of their highly anticipated debut full-length, Captors, available in stores and online July 3rd from Solid State Records. The follow-up to their touted 2011 EP We Are the Ones, Captors finds the band living up to and by all accounts surpassing the huge potential recognized by critics and fans alike. No longer constrained by the limits of an EP, the members of WOLVES AT THE GATE were able to showcase the explosive growth of their songwriting, from luscious, melodic rock tracks to lip-splitting hardcore stomps. “While we love We Are The Ones we were really excited to branch out further into our creativity and diversify our songwriting,” explains guitarist/vocalist Steve Cobucci. “On Captors, listeners will definitely hear a more mature side of WATG with a clearer vision of how we approach our songwriting.” Produced by Andreas Magnussen (OH, SLEEPER, HASTE THE DAY, etc), Captors is a blisteringly heavy full-length debut with the potential to appeal to every variety of rocker – from fans of metalcore to traditional metal to mainstream hard rock. It’s an album that – like those of some of the band’s influences (AS CITIES BURN, THRICE, FOO FIGHTERS, UNDER0ATH) – avoids pigeonholes and easy labels. Formed in 2008, WATG began turning heads almost immediately and it wasn’t long before they were touring with bands they had grown up listening to on their iPods, recording with producers whose work they appreciated and signing with a label – Solid State Records – they had long respected. With the November 2011 release of We Are The Ones, the band wedged their way into a crowded heavy music scene. Now, with Captors, the band is kicking down the door and taking no prisoners. Tour Dates Jun 1 Jacksonville FL @ Murray Hill Theater Jun 2 Columbus GA @ Summer Side Show Festival Jun 3 Marietta GA@ Swazey’s Jun 8 Forest City IA @ Bash On The Farm Jun 22 Goshen IN @ The Note Venue w/ Oh Sleeper Jun 23 Pontiac MI @ The Pike Room w/ Oh Sleeper Jun 24 Lakewood OH @ The Foundry w/ Oh Sleeper Jun 25 Canandiagua NY @ The Villager w/ Oh Sleeper Jun 26 Clifton NJ @ Dingbatz w/ Oh Sleeper Jun 27 Mt Union PA @ Creation Fest NE Jun 28 Virginia Beach VA @ Shaka’s w/ Oh Sleeper Jun 29 Lynchburg WV @ Cross Point Music Venue w/ Oh Sleeper Jun 30 Cincinnati OH @ The Underground w/ Oh Sleeper Jul 4 Marietta IL @ Cornerstone Festival Jul 7 Columbus OH @ Newport Music Hall Jul 13 Rockford IL @ Millenium Center Jul 20 Enumclaw WA @ Creation Fest NW Aug 4 Harmony NC @ Awesome God Fest Aug 8 Darien NY @ Kingdom Bound 2012 Aug 10 Avon IN @ The 512 Aug 18 Jacksonville FL @ Murray Hill Theater Aug 31 Worthing SD @ Lifelight Festival Dec 7 – Ennepetal Germany @ Christmas Rock Night Festival...

Gotham Rocks is ready to announce its next show at Gramercy Theatre, featuring the bluesy and melodic hard rockers Bound by Substance. These Queens natives have graced the stages of Irving Plaza (twice, both sold out), Webster Hall, CBGB’s and The Knitting Factory. Now it’s time for them to take center stage for their biggest headlining show to date. It wouldn’t be a Gotham Rocks show without a full line up of top shelf musicians. Woods of Arden kick off the evening with their catchy riffs and big vocals. Then, two bands fresh off a sold out Gramercy show of their own, Circus Life with their memorable rock ‘n’ roll swagger and The Blackfires’ with their 101 proof blend of soul and classic rock. And finally, Last Stand For Lucy‘s haunting honesty and sharp musical arrangements puts the finishing touches on this unforgettable evening. Woods Of Arden – This NY four-piece ignites explosive riffs, pounding rhythms and roaring vocals that will decimate everything within earshot. Circus Life – A muscular-yet-groovy rhythm section with furious guitar riffs, lead by a rich baritone with a swagger, Circus Life puts an authentic dose into the needle that has been missing the vein for too long. The Blackfires – Lyrically treacherous, brandishing unrelenting guitar licks, their unique 101 proof blend of blues-infused hard rock will leave with you with a true rock ‘n’ roll hangover.
