After a couple of great in-studio acoustic performances from Ghosts Of Eden and Charetta at 91.5 WRPI, the Gotham Rocks Showcase tour stormed into Albany, NY on Tuesday June 5th at Bogies. Headlined by one of the best new modern rock bands to hit the airwaves, Eye Empire, the lineup was an awesome one. Nick Lee from Albany’s rock station, Q103 also came down and interviewed the bands prior to the show.

Eye Empire just simply kills it live. Their stage show is quickly becoming the stuff of legend. Pictures and videos do not do them justice. You just have to see them play live. As with every show they played on the Gotham Rocks tour, they did not disappoint in Albany either.. For more tour dates, music and info on this rock-metal crossover powerhouse, www.eyeempire.com
Playing before Eye Empire was the electro-influenced modern rock band, Bulletproof Messenger who’s brand of melodic, groove heavy rock came through loud and clear with their great sounding live show. They are a regular Gotham Rocks artist and part of the band calls the Albany, NY area their home. http://www.bulletproofmessenger.net/
Charetta is modern rock from NYC with a female twist. Singer Angelina Delcarmen never disappoints with amazing vocal performances showing range, passion and agression in just the right amounts. A great performer, she is backed by a solid lineup of seasoned musicians who drive their rhythmic riffing and songwriting home to whoever is so lucky to hear them play. www.charetta.com
Ghosts of Eden from New York City is a great new rock band that balances hard rock with songwriting. Frontman Tom Pino, does a great job of combining hard rock with appealing melodies that result in a unique combination. Not traditional hard rock, not traditional pop rock but something of their own in between the two. www.ghostsofeden.com
Opening the show was the Albany based, Tamerlane– A new band with great stylistic similarities to the headliner Eye Empire– mixing metal, rock, driving heavy grooves and melodic but aggressive vocals. They made a fitting addition to the bill. http://www.reverbnation.com/tamerlane
