Sunday, June 3rd, 2012 Gotham Rocks invaded Manchester, NH and set up shop at Milly’s Tavern and put on a rock show with an impressive lineup of local and out-of-state talent. With several modern rock bands representing the New Hampshire scene and a couple of NYC-based bands it was not your average lineup..
Touring New England and tearing up the stage was the New York based, Ghosts Of Eden. Imagine the love child of Breaking Benjamin and Bruce Springsteen.. What you get is Ghosts of Eden who describe themselves as “velvet grunge”. www.ghostsofeden.com.
Also hailing from New York City was the touring band, Charetta who’s female fronted, dark and rhythmic brand of modern rock can be described as Alanis Morissette punching Chevelle in the face. Great vocals and a polished stage show make watching Charetta a compulsion.. www.charetta.com.
Opening the show was the band, Taken- fronted by a powerful female vocalist. This new band mixes traditional hard rock with cool fx and an energetic live show. http://www.reverbnation.com/taken1.
Next was Mindset X – Melodic rock that mixes hard rock with an acoustic, almost folky and sometimes bluesy vibe that works well for them both sound wise and entertainment wise. http://mindsetx.com/.
A Simple Complex, was another firey female-fronted modern rock band with a great vocalist, catchy and mature songwriting and a high energy live show. http://www.asimplecomplex.com/.
East Is East is a fun band to watch that mixes rock with pop, punk, and cool fx and synths. The clean vocals and driving rhythms add to the appeal of this band from New Hampshire. http://www.eastiseastmusic.com'
